TYPES OF ADDITCTION
Addiction to anything is a disease of the mind and it is important to realize that someone who has an addiction cannot stop their addiction. Realizing when a student's parents might be addicted to a substance might be difficult to know, and the students might not even be aware that it is a problem. Addiction is also genetic, which means that these traits are passed down from parents to children. It is important to make students aware that if their parents are addicted, they face a higher risk as well.

HOW TO COMBAT ADDICTION
It is important that students do not try and talk to their parents about their addiction. To be most affective, professional intervention is the best way to let someone know that they are showing signs of addiction and need to seek help.
If someone has an addiction, it is almost impossible to go back to normal habits. Instead, the best thing for them to do is to quit the act altogether.
